Description

Summary: A bistro with creative flair.

With its roots in a crowdfunding campaign, Wreckfish emerged from a derelict building in 2017, thanks to the ambition of Gary Usher. Now, at 60 Seel Street, the venue thrives as part of Usher's family of north-western bistros. Far from focusing solely on seafood, the menu at Wreckfish showcases excellent ingredients in creative, yet 'simple' dishes. The bistro menu, served during lunch and early evening, is a particularly tempting three-course selection, while the main menu offers more elaborate options. The cuisine is inventive, with dishes like gazpacho with smoked bacon and toasted nori, pig's head croquettes with salt-baked pineapple and salsa verde, and mains such as cod fillet with taramasalata. Accompaniments like truffle and Parmesan chips elevate the offerings, and the dessert menu is equally appealing with choices like strawberry pavlova. Wreckfish also caters to the breakfast crowd on weekends and bank holidays. The wine list is accessible, and beers range from local to Bavarian.
