Martiny's is a luxurious three-story bar occupying a historic carriage house in Gramercy. Opened by Takuma Watanabe, a Tokyo native, the bar is a fusion of his birthplace and Manhattan, where he gained popularity for his work at Angel's Share. Showcasing the Japanese concept of hospitality, guests receive a warm oshibori towel upon arrival and are served perfectly mixed drinks in Kimura crystal. The menu, like an omakase sequence, features ten items with a focus on Golden Age cocktails, elevated with premium spirits. Each cocktail, from those featuring Japanese ingredients like Nikka whisky and matcha to twists on classics like the Martini, is beautifully presented. Chef Wayne Cheng complements the drinks with light but exquisite bites, including caviar-topped chicken karaage. The bar's meticulous details, elegant glassware, and soft jazz all contribute to an opulent and memorable experience.
